Dr. Ozkarahan treats a variety of anxiety disorders including Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Specific Phobias, and the anxiety that can be associated with Depression as well as Adjustment Disorders. While her follow-up visits are via telehealth, she offers in-person consultations in the Flatiron District in Manhattan, NYC.
She integrates a variety of psychotherapy techniques into her customized treatments including supportive, cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and psychodynamic approaches. As a psychiatrist who is also a psychotherapist, Dr. Ozkarahan provides psychotherapy with or without medication for all of her patients at varying frequencies of visits. When necessary, she integrates medication in a fine-tuned, gentle, and collaborative fashion after educating her patients on risks, potential side effects, and benefits so that they can make the most informed decisions about their care. During treatment, she monitors her patients' progress closely and adjusts dosages as necessary.
In addition to psychotherapy and psychopharmacology, Dr. Ozkarahan promotes healthy behavioral changes as a lifestyle psychiatrist. She will partner with her patients to explore their exercise, nutrition, sleep, stress management, self-care, mindfulness, and socialization patterns in a holistic approach to both mental and physical wellness.
